Long time no post
Jul. 31st, 2004 04:21 pmWell... it's been an interesting week.
Training for work was okay. Two days of going over how exactly to be a successful telemarketer. They head guy took us through the stuff. I'm still not sure if he's funny or extremely intimidating (I'm leaning towards the intimidating side. There's just something about his personality).
Tuesday I actually got to go on the phones for about 10 minutes. That was... different.
Wednesday was my first actual day on the job. By break time I really needed to get off the phone and stop talking for a while. I was exhausted and in serious need of chocolate. I'd been chewed out by a woman 'cause I'd been talking to her son (he was 8 years old and sounded like a mature woman. Sheesh!). I got some arrogant smart arse who I couldn't snark back at 'cause you have to be polite and proffesional at all times *sigh*.
Thursday night was a bit better. I can't see myself lasting there for very long though. I'd go insane very quickly.
I now have a couple of bags of chocolate to take with me to work (as opposed to paying ridiculous prices from the vending machine). I'm also going to print out the picture of Puss in Boots
deigratia sent me. So cute! And it'll keep me smiling
In other news I have a new muse. Those of you who know me know that I'm a HUGE Stargate:SG1 fan. I recently got the first three seasons in dvd box set. I've been watching a lot of the early Stargate episodes (which I missed from being scarred by the movie and thought the series was just as bad) and I started getting an idea for a story.
It's going to take a LOT of planning and study, which will involve reading up on my ancient texts 'cause I want to get this historically accurate.
*ducks thrown objects* Okay, okay. I'll stop teasing. I was thinking about the Goa'uld, their usual mode of operation, and people that I've studied that seem to fit the whole Goa'uld thing...
Alexander the Great. He had that whole "I am a god, worship me" thing going on (which was a hell of a lot more complicated than that, but that's the general gist of it). He survived a hell of a lot (a HELL of a lot! Symbiote healing anyone? Sarcophogus in the baggage train?). Noone's ever found his body. Nobody even knows where he's BURIED. His body supposedly stayed PERFECT for 7 days after his death. It would've been around that time that the Goa'uld were in Egypt. He said he was the son of Zeus-Ammon (which was the Greek/Macedonian version of Ammon Ra, or just plain old Ra).
Of course after I thought that I suddenly had this sword toting Alexander!Goa'uld muse running about in my head. He's only half formed at the moment. But I don't think he's going to be leaving me alone for a while.
So, looks like I'm going to be writing a Stargate fic.
windtear , feel free to ring me up and chat if you find this interesting. I could use an idea bouncer offerer for this one. At the moment I've just got a very vague idea and psychopathic muse with godlike inspirations running about in my head. He's scaring me *grin
And that's my life at the moment.
