Shrek 2 *squeeeeeee*
Jul. 6th, 2004 09:13 pmSaw Shrek 2 today. *squee*
Donkey, and Puss in Boots. Oh, my, god... Puss in Boots. So CUTE *SQUEEEEEEEEEEE* I wanna adopt him!
Well. I loved the opening. Especially the LotR takeoff. That had me laughing my head off like you wouldn't believe (no-one else in the theatre was laughing... though I think there was an adult down the front laughing like crazy, I'm not sure. The little kids outnumbered the older people at LEAST 10/1 so they didn't get some of the jokes. And Fiona tossing (what I'm assuming was the little mermaid) back into the ocean only to get attacked by sharks was funny too.
Shrek meets the in-laws *snicker* I liked. I kinda knew that the King probably wasn't human when Fairy Godmother was going on about taking away his happily ever after. I wasn't expecting him to be the Frog Prince/King, I thought he was going to be another ogre (which would explain his whole problem with ogres).
And speaking of Fairy Godmother, jeesh... talk about power going to her head.
And Puss... He's so CUTE!!!! I ADORE him. I love how he gets introduced, with nothing but his eyes showing and this gorgeous, deep, Spanish accented voice *le sigh*.
Yes, I have a thing for accents. So sue me.
And the way he attacks Shrek... and makes Donkey cry *giggles insanely* (speaking of Donkey, I've always kinda felt sorry for him. He's like the loyal friend. The one that's always there for a person even if they take him for granted and forget that he's there or try to get rid of him all the time. I can kinda empathise with him. Kinda a case of been there, done that, really DON'T want the t-shirt).
But Puss is so CUTE!!!! *squeeeeeeeeeee*.
Donkey the stallion.. very cute stallion. I kinda wish he could've stayed like that really.
And we finally got to meet the Muffin Man! (The muffin man? The muffin man! Who lives on Drury lane?... ye gods, somebody get me to bed. I think I'm loosing my mind)
AND DONKEY HAS KIDS!!!!!! *SQUEEEE* They are so CUTE!!!! (I have a new warcry methinks. Run in fear dastardly minions.. Or your ears shall be assaulted with an earpeircing squee and the cry of 'They are so CUTE!!!'.
I want a Puss in Boots plushie. and right after that I want a plushie of one of Donkey's kids. They're so CUTE!!!!!
There's so much more that I could say but I think I really need to go and order my thoughts before I write any more.
Oh, anybody want a King Arthur sticker/postcard. I meant to grab only one from the movie theatre and I ended up picking up about 15... oops...
It's got Arthur, Lancelot (I can't tell who's who out of those two. I don't know who either actor is) and Guenevere. The two guys are armored and Gwen's in her battle (un)dress. I swear, that thing's only a few convinient strips of leather on the top bit and possibly a rather skimpy skirt (I'm not really sure on the bottom bit. It only goes from about the hips up).
And the 'How to know you've been hanging 'round medieval re-enactors too long'? Well, when I saw the costume the first thing that ran through my mind was "Is that even PERIOD??".. the second was "Is that thing even practical?!?".
I mean one good sword swipe and she'd be seriously hurt. That thing offers NO protection from the hips to just below her breasts.. actually I'm not sure that thing even covers the bottom of her breasts... much skin showing *pulls a face* (wouldn't catch me wearing it. A)I wouldn't be game and B) I don't think I have the figure). So one sword swipe=one serious cut. OR one good sword swip would cut all the stuff holding that together and she'd flash the entire battlefield and have absolutely no way of covering herself.
Other than that, the trailers I've seen look pretty good. I was reading that they've demoted Merlin from a magician/sorcerer guy to an advisor/cheiftan guy. So, no nifty magic but maybe they're trying to do 'historical' as opposed to 'fantasy' type of thing.
And now I'm going to shut up and go and read my friends lis

Date: 2004-07-06 02:00 pm (UTC)My brother might want a King Arthur postcard. He thinks it's cool because his name is Arthur (English version) and he has a thing for the actress who plays Guenevere.

Date: 2004-07-07 03:50 am (UTC)I adore Puss. He's just... well you get the idea ^_^
And I want that wallpaper of yours *grins* it sounds so cute!
(I really need to learn a new word. I've been using 'cute' far too often lately)
I liked the movie too but I kind of wanted Shrek, Fiona and Donkey to stay in their new forms.
I wanted Donkey to stay in his new form.
speaking of Donkey, weren't his kids adorable?

Date: 2004-07-06 08:03 pm (UTC)Didn't read your spoilers for Shrek 2...will not see it for months, just like King Arthur! *resists the urge to cry* But I love Puss in Boots just from the previews! Too cute!
Ioan Gruffud who plays Lancelot was on Rove last night- soooo hot! You might know him- he's Horatio Hornblower! lol. Clive Owen is Arthur. He was in Gosford Park- the butler/valet guy who was actually the son of the murdered rich guy. *shrugs* They haven't based the movie on the legend- so no magic. It's based on a historical figure that could have started the myth of King Arthur- but no one knows the truth for sure. Historians have been arguing about it for a very looooong time! :-)
Anyways, Arthur is the one without the beard. Lancelot has the curly hair and goatee thing going. And you are so right about Guinevere's clothes. lol.

Date: 2004-07-07 03:59 am (UTC)Okay, okay. I'll send you one. I think I have a cd here I meant to send you the last time but I forgot to (or it fell out and into my bag. Something like that anyway).
Didn't read your spoilers for Shrek 2...will not see it for months, just like King Arthur! *resists the urge to cry*
Is good! (Shrek, not KA). I laughed nearly the whole was through. And remember, STAY UNTIL AFTER ALL THE PICTURE CREDITS ARE OVER *squeeeeeeeee*. You'll kick yourself if you don't.
But I love Puss in Boots just from the previews! Too cute!
He's the previews... times 10. He's so ADORABLE.
Historians have been arguing about it for a very looooong time! :-)
And will continue to argue until they find the 'very secret diaries of King Arthur' hidden away in some secret compartment of a moldy old castle.

You know. I just discovered that those postcard sticker things have the character names above the characters.. I.. am a ditz.
And you are so right about Guinevere's clothes. lol.
*snicker* I remembered something after I posted that entry. The celts used to go naked into battle. She's overdressed.

Date: 2004-07-11 07:07 pm (UTC)Carly (my brothers girlfriend who lives with us) is absolutely obsessed with Puss in Boots and is so very jealous of you for having seen the movie! lol. Poor thing. I'm trying to ignore anything about new movies that I won't see for months, because otherwise I'll drive myself mad!
'very secret diaries of King Arthur'- lmao. Funny stuff, and oh so true.
And don't worry about feeling ditzy over not noticing the characters names on the postcard...I've done stupid things like that too. It must be something we all go through...and never only once! lol.
As for Keira being overdressed- I laughed so hard and loud when I read that that I got into trouble (Dad was in bed). What an image. lol.

Sounds like a plan.
Hang on... aren't you already mad? *evil grin*
'very secret diaries of King Arthur'- lmao. Funny stuff, and oh so true.
the scary thing is, somebody will probably end up writing it at some point.
And don't worry about feeling ditzy over not noticing the characters names on the postcard...I've done stupid things like that too.
That's a relief. I thought I was going senile in my old age (not that 21's very old... but.. I'll just shut up now *giggle*)

Um... oops. Sorry for getting you in trouble. I hope you shared the joke.
