Right, so the last few weeks have been kinda stressful...and you know me. When I get stressed I make icons. Plus I've joined [profile] tf_stillnesswhich is an icon competition community. I've got entries for this week, but they don't start voting until Saturday.

Anyway, under the cut is Ironhide, Bumblebee, Maggie, Starscream, Optimus Prime and Frenzy.

1.  2.  3.   4.  5.

6.   7.

A lot of these were me just playing about. I couldn't decide which one I liked best so I kept them all.

8.   9. this one got entered into the icon comp. It did fairly well

10.   11. this one also got entered.

12.  Just playing with brushes...but I so empathise!

13.  I've since seen someone with an icon that's very similar to this (after I'd spent three hours making this one)... This was my reaction when I saw it.

14.   15.

I'm fast developing a soft spot for Ironhide. He makes good icons. Ratchet is a screencapping nightmare...and don't get me started on Jazz (fraggin' 'bot doesn't stand STILL long enough to get a decent shot!!), Prime's okay, but hard to do, Bumblebee...yeah..But Ironhide. I haven't had anything NOT turn out okay with him. *huggles Ironhide*

16. Maggie screencaps WELL! I was surprised..and proceeded to go back and get a lot of caps of her.

17.   18.  19.  20.

Yes, I now have more, and will proceed to make some more of her..just as soon as I get inspired.

21.  22. This one got entered into the competition as well.

23. Another of my entries.

24. Yep, another entry ^___^. I'm REALLY pleased how this one turned out.

25.  Er, yeah. Not happy with this one.

26.  First ever entry into an icon comp. It did crap, and I'm not too happy with it, but hey. It was my first entry.

27.  The less said about this one, the better.

Oh, and I'm going to start a gallery of "Sam's Funny Faces", 'cause seriosly, some of the faces he pulls...classic!!

Right, I'm going to go and sleep off whatever bug this is I've picked up from my students. I had to have picked it up off them. I haven't been anywhere in WEEKS!!!

Now, is this the moving one or the still one? *grin* I was giggling while I was making the still one (mainly going, now, which little symbol thingy can I use as a brush next). I already have an idea how I can change around the moving one.

Frenzy is just great to make funny icons with.

Forgot to add, feel free to steal any if you want them.

Oh, and I've finished capping Judy... I'm going to try and make some icons for your fic. Can't guarentee anything, but I'll see what I can do.

The still one, number 12.

Hmmm.... I might take one or two. Must debate more icons vs. only 6 spaces for icons.....

*grins* I'm just glad I've got at least one loyal reader, honestly. I look foreward to seeing any icons you do make.

Ah, yes. #12 *grins* Kinda like that one myself.

Hey, you're crossing over two of my fandoms.... (though, I'll probably never be brave enough to venture into the indiana jones section in ff.n), of COURSE I'm going to follow it *grins*. And I like your writing style as well (and your characterisations).

I'll let you know when I do get around to making icons for it.

(It could be worse. You could be trying to brave the Harry Potter or Kingdom Hearts sections of ff.net. *shivers* It's scary in there.)

*laughs* True enough. It's hard to find certain crossovers, especially well-written ones that work. (Hopefully, I succeed.)

You like my writing style and characterizations? *wibble* Thank you!

Thanks.

I poked my head into the Harry Potter section for five minutes and hightailed it out of there with my tail between my legs. If I want to read something Harry Potter I'll look through my favourite authors favourites and read THEIR recomendations...and then if I liked that story I'll look through that authors favourites and see what they're reading. I haven't been let down yet.

I've been hankering for a SG:1/Transformers crossover, but finding a decent one is hard. I've got a few ideas for one but my lack of familiarity of the Transformers fandom is really putting a crimp in that. (Although I have started watching episodes of G1 on Youtube... there's a couple of OMG!WTF?! moments in the episodes I've seen)

Yes, you're succeeding ^_________^

Yes, I like you're writing style. Don't wibble, please don't wibble! I can't handle wibble *hides* LOL.

*nods* Yeah, that's one of the safest ways to explore the HP section.

Hmm... What were you thinking of doing with it? *is willing to toss ideas and characterizations back and forth* (*snickers* Ah, the 1980s. Weird cartoons abounded.)

Thanks!

It was a happy wibble. I still don't consider myself a good writer, when it comes to non-research stuff.

It's how I explore most of the fandoms on ff.n. It usually weeds out the stuff that sets my teeth on edge.

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking of, I've got random things bouncing 'round in my head, but no set plot or anything, yet. I really need to find the time to sit down and write them out. If I ever get anything written I'll fling them at you and see what you think ^____^

Oh, I distinctly remember Thundercats (I've got fond memories of that one). My memories of transformers are pretty much non-existant. But, yes, there were some very 'weird' moments in the first three episodes of Transformers (that's all I've managed to see so far. Real Life keeps getting in the way). There were a few facepalm moments, too.

I'm loving it! *grin*

Happy wibble is good ^___^

True, true. The good thing about ff.net is the sheer numbers of fandoms it covers means almost everyone can find something interesting there. Sadly, it lacks a minimum grammar or spelling requirement for posting stories. *sighs*

*nods* I was thinking more of "Captain Planet" or "the Smurfs." The latter gets a slight wavier, as I'm not sure how the American version compares to the original.

*is currently working on Chapter 7*

Oh, don't get me started on the whole grammar thing.

There's stories that have style issues that I can't handle, too. I can handle a certain amount of bad grammar etc...

...less, now that I actually spend most of my time teaching grammar and proper English spelling to students.

It could have the greatest story idea on the planet, but if the grammar's bad and the style is just awful there's no way I'm going to read it.

I used to love the smurfs (I'm not sure which version I saw. Australia seems to have a love affair with American stuff, though, especially back in teh 80's, so I probably saw the American version if there was one)...haven't watched it since I was a little girl, though. And Captain Planet used to just send me into hysterical giggles whenever I watched it ^_______^.

Ooooh...chapter 7 *grins*.

Your offer for idea/character bouncing/tossing is open on this end, too. Ever want someone to bounce stuff off I'll have an open ear.

*laughs* I can stand bad spelling better than bad grammar or formatting. (There's a reason my personal quote for years was "Bad spellers of the world, Untie!") But, yes I completely agree with you. Unless it's a deliberate bad fic - there was a bad fic challenge in a community I'm a member of - and then I'll read it just for bragging rights.

*nods* Probably. I think the Smurfs are originally Swedish, though. I loved Captain Planet's naming puns: Loot N. Plunder and the rest.

*is still working on it* Chapter 6 was on the short side, but it felt right to break it there. Originally, Chapters 6 & 7 were going to be one chapter, but I couldn't find a good segue into the next section.

I think I'll take you up on that.
"Good morning Optimus Prime, Bumblebee," the agent greeted the two mechs. "What are you looking at? Is it a hologram of some sort of alien artifact?"
Does that sound like Banachek to you?

Bad spelling is okay (I ended up writing "I wetn too China las yer" in my last class on Friday last week before I realised what I'd written LOL! I can spell perfectly fine when it's pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, but chalk to blackboard...my spelling just goes down the shit-shoot), grammar... I caught myself correcting a story I was reading one day because I was that annoyed (and very bored). I've never actually been brave enough to read a fic that's trying to be bad on purpose before.

Naming puns can be fun ^___^.

Yeah, 6 was a little short, but it'd been a while so I wasn't complaining (and besides, I could always go back and re-read. See if I missed anything the first time around *grin*).

I still think Simmons is going to need a hug.... gah! Icon idea *OUT,OUT FELL FIEND!!!*

Yeah, it sounds like Banachek (who doesn't get enough love, IMHO. I liked him). Polite no-matter what (that's the impression I get of him. Never once panicked during the whole film that I could see).

*snickers* I've had days where I can't spell "the". I'm completely sober, healthy, and well-rested, but I can't spell "the" for some odd reason.

*grins* Miss Anne Thrope hates everyone. Miss Dee Meenor keeps breaking the law. And, Ber Stein is always drunk.

*shrugs* I had a friend's wedding to attend. So, with finding an outfit and everything, I didn't have a lot of time to write.

*zombie-looking Simmons icon idea snarls and shuffles off*

I agree that Banachek needs more love; so does Miles. I think Banachek's calmness is part of the reason why he's teamed with Simmons. They make a good balance.

Random question: Should a transformer call something "alien" if they mean "not of Cybertronian origins"?

Date: 2008-02-23 12:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] masi-tfoot.livejournal.com
Ooooh... good question.

*ponders*

*ponders some more*

I suppose it depends on what they're talking about and who they're talking about it to. I mean, I'm sure they have their own word for it... but if they're talking about it to a bunch of humans I think they'd probably call it alien.

"It's not Cybertronian"????

*ponders*

I think you broke my brain LOL!

Alien means, literally, unfamiliar, foreign, or an origin from another place or world (and, yes, I did reach for the dictionary then). So they could use it...

Also, they've got the organic/not organic thingy going on.

Did that help?

From: [identity profile] rosieknight.livejournal.com
Yes, it does.

As for the item they're talking about... it's the mini-cube. The symbols it's covered in aren't something any of the Transformers have seen at that point in the story. (They end up looking it up on a university's web-site.)

I'm happy with some of them, but some of them are just *blah*

I'm trying to get rid of it, but I'm not having much success...and work's not helping much either (I've just possibly picked up another student..this time on my weekend! Ick!)
